We purchased the two-acre property that is the Shelburne House in 2015, fleeing the narrow confines of Boston.

Previous owners had been diligent in keeping the house in good shape so most of the changes made thus far have been aesthetic, save for the renovation of the kitchen when we first moved in.    In a nearly 200-year old house, there’s a lot to learn and a never-ending list of small things to do, but the care and craftmanship demonstrated before us has helped to make it all a labor of love.  The guest rooms of the Shelburne House are named after the first three owners of the house– the Fellows, Doc Kemp, and the Alvords.

Our goal is to provide all guests with an inviting, comfortable and relaxing experience that captures the spirit of the area and all it has to offer.
